Police are appealing for witnesses after a 12-year-old boy reported he was assaulted in Littlehampton on Monday (8 March).

At around 10.30am, two 12-year-old boys were walking through the old Waitrose car park in Duke Street when they were approached by three boys in their teens.

The teens asked the boys for money before punching one of them in the face, knocking him unconcious.

The victim attended hospital after suffering facial injuries and was later discharged.

The three suspects ran from the scene and couldn't be found after a search of the area by police.

They were described as around 12-14 years old, with one wearing a blue top, one in green and a third in black.

Any witnesses are asked to call 101.
