West Sussex GP surgery provider shuts down
Innovations in Primary Care had previously supported local practices to provide services
A West Sussex based GP federation has closed down.
Innovations in Primary Care had been providing support to help local GP surgeries deliver services.
NHS Sussex say they were made aware that Innovations in Primary Care were ceasing to trade on Friday the 27th of September.
The two contracts which NHS Sussex held with Innovations in Primary Care have both been replaced by alternative local providers to ensure the continuity of services for patients.
The urgent treatment centre services at St Richard’s Hospital and Worthing Hospital have been maintained.
Another GP Federation, Alliance for Better Care, will take over the running of some of these local services.
Another service previously provided by Innovations in Primary Care were enhanced access appointments for five Primary Care Networks the West Sussex area.
NHS Sussex says alternative arrangements are now in place to continue the impacted clinics.
They add that some patients were advised to rebook their appointments, and these are being supported by individual GP practices.
Many of the Innovations in Primary Care staff have already moved to Alliance for Better Care, and talks are reportedly ongoing for further redeployment of other staff.
