Covid-19 hasn’t put a stop to Stonepillow conducting a big fundraising event to raise money for the Chichester-based charity.

On Wednesday, September 30, seven people will participate in skydive from 10,000 ft to raise money for a charity which helps some of Chichester and Arun’s most vulnerable.

They are encouraging for businesses to support the ‘sky-diving seven’.

Stonepillow CEO Hilary Bartle said:

"We are appealing for local businesses support by asking if they are able to sponsor one of our ‘skydiving seven’ team members? A donation of £350 would ensure they get to take the leap and support Stonepillow in our commitment to provide safe and responsive services for those who are homeless, vulnerably housed or sleeping rough in Chichester and Arun. As a sponsor for the event, the businesses logo and details would be included on all our social media, press, radio and TV activity planned for the campaign."

This unique team will be solely made up of Stonepillow residents, temporarily ‘at home’ in one of the charity’s supported properties, each on their own personal journey to independent living.

What makes this special is all seven of the people participating in the skydive have engaged with the services of Stonepillow.

Hilary Bartle explained why this is more than just a fundraising event.

"If you look at it from people who have been rough sleeping, to people who are now back on track and looking to get back to work. It is not just about fundraising, it's about them taking a leap of faith into their future lives. They really want to act as an inspiration to others that actually, you can recover, you can get back on track."
