A new exhibition celebrating the life of Dame Vera Lynn has opened at the Ditchling Museum of Art and Craft.

Dame Vera Lynn: An Extraordinary Life shows off over 100 objects from her estate, lent to the museum by the family of the Force's Sweetheart.

Stephanie Fuller, Museum Director said: "Without Virginia Lewis-Jones, Dame Vera's daughter we couldn't have possibly done this exhibition. It's been great showing her around and hearing from her that she's really happy with it.

"The show has come about really because Dame Vera, who lived for 60-years in Ditchling, was a patron of our museum. When she died in 2020 we wanted to commemorate that in some way.

"Lots of people know the iconic Vera Lynn. Part of it was also showing her as a rounded human being, who lived in the village, who took part in village life".

The exhibition is running from now until the 18th of April.
