Two teenagers arrested after Co-op worker attacked with knife
He was trying to stop shoplifting
Police have arrested two teenage boys after a shop worker was attacked with a knife in Portslade.
The 23-year-old Co-op worker tried to intervene during a shoplifting incident when he was assaulted at the store in Abinger Road at around 7.30pm on August 27th.
He needed hospital treatment for what Sussex Police described as serious head injuries.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, possession of a knife, possession of Class A and class B drugs and theft.
The second, a 16-year-old, was arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm, theft and possession of Class B drugs.
Both have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
