It is believed to have hit trees before crash landing near a field

Two people are reportedly seriously injured following a light aircraft crash in Southwater, near Horsham.

It came down near Jackrells Farm Airfield this afternoon.

Sussex Police said: "Emergency services were called to a report of a light aircraft hitting trees and crash landing in an area near Reeds Lane, Southwater, at 2.35pm on Thursday 6 October.

They are currently on scene and dealing with the incident. No further details are available at this stage."
