Two people and dog rescued after being cut off by the tide at West Sussex beach
They had to be brought back ashore by Hayling Lifeboat.
Two people and their dog have been rescued from a West Sussex beach.
Selsey Coastguard Rescue Team were called at around 4.45pm today (13 November) after the trio got cut off by the tide at West Wittering Beach.
They were brought back ashore safely by Hayling Lifeboat, according to the rescue team.
The Coastguard Rescue Team has confirmed "no medical assistance was needed and safety advice was given to both casualties".
Selsey Coastguard Rescue Team advises people to:
- Always check the tide times and heights and keep a look out for the incoming tide
- Use tide timetables or a tidal prediction app
- Always carry a means for calling for help on your person
- Tell someone else where you're going and when you'll be back.
