Two men arrested following West Sussex tanning salon fire

Police believe the blaze was started deliberately

Two men from Hampshire have been arrested on suspicion of arson following a fire at a tanning salon in West Sussex.

Officers were called to the incident at Tantastic in Broadwater Street in Worthing at shortly before 11pm on October 21st.

An investigation was launched to establish the circumstances of the fire, which is believed to have been started deliberately.

A 61-year-old man from Wickham was arrested in Hampshire last Saturday (October 26th) on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. He has been released on conditional bail.

An 18-year-old man from Portsmouth was also arrested at his home address on Wednesday (October 30th) on suspicion of conspire to commit arson with intent.

He remained in custody as of Thursday afternoon.

Sussex Police has said it is continuing investigations and is working with our partners at Worthing Borough Council to support those who have been affected by the fire.
