The family of a West Sussex man who died after being hit by a car in Hampshire have paid tribute to him.

James Langlands was involved in a collision with a red Audi A1 on Winchester Road in Petersfield shortly before 11.00pm on 16 February.

The 43-year-old from Horsham died in hospital.

A family statement said: "James was kind, generous, funny and unassuming.

"He worked hard and was greatly liked and valued by the large insurance company he worked for in London.

"He treasured his long friendship with old school pals and football team members.

"He was greatly loved and will be missed by everyone who knew him".

Police are appealing for witnesses.
