Passengers in Sussex urged to 'plan before they travel' due to train strikes
Rail services will be disrupted from today until Monday
Railway passengers here in Sussex and across the country are facing significant disruption from today (5 April) as a fresh round of train strikes begins.
The ASLEF union's drivers are walking out as part of a 20 month long dispute about pay.
Certain operators are being affected on certain days.
GWR is warning of last minute changes and Southern is also running an amended timetable.
Scott Brightwell, operations manager at Southeastern, told us: "We are expecting Monday to be really disruptive.
"Stations will see crowding and ques of up to two hours. This will be a very difficult day for travel so please check the entire length of your journey, planning ahead and allowing a lot of extra time.
"We are doing the very best we can to operate a very limited service but we are expecting it to be severely disrupted."
