A man's been arrested after tools were stolen from a number of businesses in Sussex and Surrey.

Eight businesses were reportedly targeted from 9-30 October.

High value tools were stolen from garages and storage containers in areas including Hove, Brighton and Burgess Hill.

Thefts were also reported in Ashtead and Epsom, Surrey.

Sussex Police pursued a Black Citroen Berlingo that was linked to the reports on Saturday 30 November.

Police failed to stop the vehicle on the A23 near Albourne, with multiple police cars sustaining damage.

The vehicle was later found on Willow Way, Hurstpierpoint.

A 31-year-old man from Brighton has been arrested on suspicion of seven burglaries, one attempted burglary, criminal damage, dangerous driving, and driving while disqualified.

He has been conditionally bailed whilst enquiries continue.

Sussex Police believe there may be other suspects, and are appealing for more help from the public.
