Sussex told to prepare for possible thunderstorms as warning issued
A yellow warning is in force today
We're being warned that Sussex could see some 'hit and miss' thunderstorms on Monday (August 15th).
The Met Office has issued a yellow thunderstorm warning across the whole of the county following days of heatwave conditions.
It says some areas could see torrential downpours and possible disruption.
The county has seen some of the warmest temperatures in the country over the past few days, with highs of more than 34 degrees Celsius recorded at Wiggonholt, near Pulborough.
The warning kicks in at 10am on Monday and runs through until the end of Wednesday.
Hot conditions over the weekend led to multiple fires in the county with services stretched once again.
