Three men have been charged following a number of deliberate fires across Sussex.

Police said the damage caused is estimated to have cost more than £1.1 million.

Emergency services dealt with a series of incidents in 2021, including a fire at a derelict property in Broadwater Lane, Horsham; two outbuildings in Lower Willingdon which contained farm equipment; and a barn fire on farmland off the A26 at Beddingham.

Following investigations into each of the fires, three people were charged with several counts of arson.

Oliver Williams, 19, of Porters Way, Polegate; Joshua Brinkley, 19, of Southfield, Polegate; and Connor Luck, 21, of Balls Green, Withyham have been summonsed to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, April 27.
