Three people have been arrested in Hastings for drug offences.

Police officers carried out plain-clothed patrols last Monday (September 20) as part of Project Adder, an initiative aiming to crack down on drug-related crime.

Suspicious behaviour was seen in Alexandra Park and Gensing Gardens, as well as lower St Leonards the following day.

In Gensing Gardens two people were arrested. A 16-year-old boy on suspicion of being concerned in offering to supply Class A drugs and possession of a bladed article in a public place. A 21-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug.

A subsequent search of an address on Silverlands Road in St Leonards found Class A drugs and cash, and a 24-year-old man was arrested there on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug.

The 16-year-old boy and 24-year-old man have been released on conditional bail, and the 21-year-old man released under investigation while enquiries continue.
