The hotel chain has revealed some of the more interesting items left behind its hotels up and down the country over the last 12 months.

Detailed below are some of the more unusual treasures that have been left by customers in the company’s Chichester Travelodge hotels:

  • A set of Louis Vuitton suitcases
  • A confidential set of company results
  • A set of manuals on how to fly a plane
  • A 4ft chocolate cupcake
  • A wedding proposal poem
  • A set of WW2 medals

  • A sack full of chocolate gold coins
  • Some items left behind at other Travelodge hotels across the county include a bottle containing sand from the beach in Worthing and a five tier wedding cake made of cheese found at the Littlehampton Rustington chain.
