Teens dice with death tombstoning in Littlehampton

A large group were jumping from a road bridge into the River Arun

Sussex Police and the Littlehampton Coastguard Rescue Team have dealt with a large group of teenagers who were spotted jumping from the A259 road bridge into the River Arun at Littlehampton.

Emergency services were alerted during the warm sunny weather yesterday afternoon (Friday 2 April 2021).

TOMBSTONING

So called 'Tombstoning' can be extremely dangerous, especially into the River Arun which is a very fast moving river.

TOMBSTONING DANGERS

The teenagers are lucky not to have suffered serious injury, or worse still, to have drowned. It's a potentially deadly activity or stunt for anyone to try.
