Teenager jailed after stabbing boy in Portslade
He'll spend 16 months in a youth detention centre
A teenager has been jailed for stabbing a 15-year-old boy during an attempted robbery in Portslade.
The attack occurred on Valley Road just before 2:30am on Tuesday 9 August.
The victim was chased down the road by two boys, before one of them stabbed him in the back.
He's since made a full recovery.
A 16-year-old boy from Portslade pleaded guilty to GBH with intent and possessing a knife.
He's been sentenced to 16 months in a youth detention centre.
A 16-year-old boy from Hove who was involved in the stabbing, pleaded guilty to attempted robbery, and received a two year supervision order.
Rose Horan, who investigated the stabbing, said "the motive behind this pre-meditated attack was robbery."
“In terms of youth crime, this is about as dangerous and cowardly as it gets. It could so easily have had a tragic ending."
