Teenager assaulted and threatened with knife on Brighton train

Police have made an arrest following the incident last month

Officers are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was assaulted and threatened with a knife on a train at Brighton station.

The 16-year-old was approached by another teenage boy while sat on a train about to travel towards Hove at around 1pm on January 8th.

He was punched in the face before the offender ran off the train, joining a second teenager who both ran out of the station.

British Transport Police said a 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of an offensive weapon.

He has been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
