Sussex Police officer charged with attempted rape

The 45-year-old has been suspended from the force

A Sussex Police officer has been charged with attempted rape, sexual assault and causing a female to engage in sexual activity without consent on a woman known to him.

45-year-old PC Daniel Julian has been suspended from the force in connection with the alleged incident in Kent in August 17th, 2021.

Sussex Police say the alleged offences happened while he was off duty.

Julian will appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Friday 21 April.

The matter was referred to the Independent Office of Police Conduct who directed that a local investigation by the Professional Standards Department should be conducted.
