Sussex Police officer charged with assault
It follows an alleged incident in Worthing in December 2023
A Sussex Police officer has been suspended from duty after being accused of assaulting members of the public.
It follows an alleged incident in Worthing on 2 December 2023.
PC Dale Hughes has been charged with two counts of assault on members of the public, being drunk and disorderly, and harassment.
The 29-year-old is next due in Worthing Magistrates Court on 26 March.
Sussex Police say they'll consider misconduct proceedings once criminal proceedings have concluded.
The force have also referred themselves to the Independent Office of Police Conduct for investigation.
