Former Sussex Police staff member charged with child sex offences

Phil Joseph is accused of possessing and distributing indecent images of children

A former member of Sussex Police staff has been charged with child sex offences, including possession and distribution of indecent images of children.

Phil Joseph, 28, previously worked as a civilian licensing officer based in East Sussex.

He was arrested in September 2024 after police flagged suspicious online activity.

After the allegations, Joseph was suspended from duty and later resigned from his position with the force.

Charges against Phil Joseph

Joseph now faces several charges, including one count of distributing indecent images of children and three counts of possessing indecent images of children.

He has been released on conditional bail and is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 5th December 2025.
