Sussex among world's best places to see the sunset
A travel website's put it above the likes of Miami and Hawaii
Move over Miami, Hawaii and Cairo - if you want one of the finest places to see a sunset in the world, you can find one here in West Sussex.
The Sussex coast has beaten all of those prestigious places in a list of the top 25 destinations for sunsets, compiled by US-based travel website Far and Wide.
That's enough to put the our area up there with the likes of the Azores, the Serengeti National Park in Africa and Switzerland's Matterhorn mountain.
According to the website, the cliffs of Sussex's coastline make for a spectacular view out to sea, 'particularly at sunset when the sun's rays swirl into pinks and oranges.'
The website has named the cliffs between Seaford and Beachy Head as the best nature spot, while a number of local eateries were recommended for those looking to grab a snack or meal while watching the sun set.
The Crab Shack in Marine Parade in Worthing is described as 'the perfect place to sip a pint or a glass of wine, while simultaneously drinking in the views.'
Meanwhile Billy's on the Beach in Bracklesham Bay - described as 'casual, no frills and undeniably charming' - took the site's recommendation as 'best restaurant'.
Other sites around the world to make the list include the Isle of Skye in Scotland and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
