A man from St Leonards is set to stand trial today over the murder of two women.

Mark Brown, of Squirrel Close, is accused of killing Leah Ware, from Hastings, and Alexandra Morgan, from Sissinghurst, Kent.

Both mothers, in their thirties, were reported missing six months apart in May and November 2021.

Miss Ware was last seen by a friend and the last anyone saw of Miss Morgan was at a petrol station in Cranbrook, close to where she lived.

Brown appeared at Hove Crown Court yesterday morning (Monday, 17th) wearing a suit jacket, tie and jeans.

The 41-year-old denies the charges.

The judge shortlisted 18 people to potentially serve as the jury – they will hear evidence throughout the trial, which is expected to run until mid-November.
