Southbourne man jailed for child sex offences in Hampshire
He has also been given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely
A man from Southbourne has been sentenced to seven years in prison having been found guilty of non-recent child sex offences in Farnborough and Aldershot.
64-year-old Gordon Ingram, of Gordon Road, was found guilty of four counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14 years, three counts of indecent assault on a boy under the age of 14 years and one count of indecent assault on a boy under the age of 16 years, following a trial at Winchester Crown Court.
He earlier pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing indecent photographs of a child and one count of engaging in sexual communication with a child.
The court heard how Ingram had sexually assaulted five children across a period of ten years, between 1994 and 2004.
Ingram’s offences were reported to police in January 2019, after one of the victims disclosed what had happened to a relative.
Ingram was sentenced to a total of seven years imprisonment. He was also made subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and will also be placed on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely.

“I also hope this sentence will encourage others who have suffered this type of abuse, no matter when it happened, to come forward and speak to us. We take allegations of this nature extremely seriously and work hard to bring offenders to justice.”
