A second man has been charged after an armed robbery in Worthing.

Police were called to Worthing News in Rowlands Road at 4.30pm on Thursday, 3 December, following a report that staff had been threatened by two men with a firearm.

Sussex Police said four bottles of vodka and around ÂŁ400 cash was reportedly taken from the till.

One victim was assaulted and suffered a minor injury.

Dale Benjamin Searle, aged 32, of no fixed address, has been charged with robbery and possession of an imitation firearm.

He appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court today (21 December) and has been remanded to appear at Lewes Crown Court on 18 January.

On 8 December, 32 year-old Danny Cobbold, of Winterbourne Close in Worthing, was charged with robbery, assault thereby causing actual bodily harm and possession of an imitation firearm.
