Just five months after leaving Crawley Town, Scott Lindsey has returned to take charge of the club for a section time.

The manager has signed a deal until June 2028 to become the Red Devils' new manager, replacing Rob Elliot, who was sacked on Wednesday (January 19th).

Lindsay had a big impact on the club during his first stint, guiding them away from relegation to the National League after joining in January 2023.

By the end of the next season, the club had found themselves in League Two play-offs, where they defeated Crewe Alexandra 2-0 in the play-off final to secure promotion in their first ever Wembley appearance.

Lindsey left the club to manage MK Dons in October 2024, but has returned after being sacked by that club earlier this month.

Crawley chairman Preston Johnson said:

"We are very excited to welcome Scott back to Crawley Town. We all love the culture and commitment he brings to the Club and the game.

"We’re striving for success at the highest levels of English football and to strengthen relationships with our fans and the broader community.

"Our lead investors are committed to a long-term vision, and Scott Lindsey is essential to that."

Scott returns to Crawley with the club mired in a relegation battle in League One, 12 points from safety with just nine games of the season remaining.

He will take charge of the side starting from Saturday's home match with fellow strugglers Bristol Rovers at the Broadfield Stadium.

Crawley has also confirmed that first-team coach Louis Storey, who was placed in interim charge, has left the club along with assistants Anthony Sweeney and Steve Hafner.
