West Sussex Fire and Rescue are currently tackling a roof fire in house in Easebourne.

Fire engines from Midhurst, Petworth, Chichester, Billingshurst, Liphook, Haslemere, Farnham plus the Command Unit from Bognor Regis are in attendance after the blaze broke out on Henley Old Road earlier this morning (Sun 23 Oct)

The alarm was raised by the occupants of the house after an apparent lightning strike. The subsequent fire has caused extensive damage.

A post on Twitter shows a large plume of smoke rising into the sky.

People living nearby are advised to keep windows and doors closed.

Members of the public are also being advised to avoid the area if possible.
