Drugs worth £2m seized after packages found in sea of Sussex
Five people have been arrested and bailed in connection with the discovery
Five people have been arrested after drugs with an estimated street value of £2 million were found in the sea off East Sussex.
A number of packages were discovered in the water near Seaford and found to contain Class A drugs, police said.
The first packages were found just after 9pm on Thursday and further packages were recovered as police investigated.
A Sussex Police spokesman said:
"Members of the public are urged to dial 999 immediately if they come across any suspect packages in the area.
"Three men were arrested in the area on Thursday night on suspicion of improper importation of goods - controlled drug of Class A.
"A man and a woman were also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the fraudulent evasion of a prohibition on the importation of a Class A drug."
All five have been released on bail while the investigation continues.
