People in Horsham are being warned to stay vigilant after a woman in her 80s was duped into selling jewellery.

A man claiming to be an antiques dealer approached the victim’s property in Morell Avenue on Friday, February 3, and implied her neighbour had sent him.

The suspect entered the home before persuading her to part with a garnet bracelet for a low price.

Police believe he also targeted a number of other properties in the area but are unclear as to whether he managed to buy anything else.

Anyone with any information about what happened, or who has CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage, is asked to report it to police online or by calling 101, quoting serial 1246 of 03/02.
