Police launch appeal following attempted sexual assault in Bognor

Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted sexual assault in a Bognor park to come forward.

Officers are investigating a report of an attempted assault on a girl in Hatherleigh Gardens betwen 7pm and 7.30pm on April 23rd.

Sussex Police has described the suspect as tall, slim and wearing a short brown leather jacket and a flat cap.

Police investigating the report are urging anyone who saw what happened to come forward to assist with their enquiries.

Officers would particularly like to speak to a man and woman who walked past the suspect moments before the attempted assault took place, and another witness who pulled the suspect away from the victim.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to sexually assault a girl and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
