Pedestrian killed in Cowfold collision
Officers were called to the incident involving a grey Mercedes on the A272 Bolney Road shortly after 1am yesterday
Police say emergency services and the public attempted CPR before emergency services arrived.
Despite best efforts a 44-year-old man from West Chiltington was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 31-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and drug-driving. He remains in custody.
