One person taken to hospital after house fire in West Sussex

One person has been taken to hospital following a house fire in Tarring, West Sussex.
The blaze broke out just after 9am on Castle Road, according to West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service. Five fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were sent to the scene at the height of the incident.
All occupants were safely accounted for. One person was treated at the scene and taken to hospital by ambulance.
Castle Road was closed during the emergency response but has since reopened.
In a statement, the fire service said:
“Firefighters have now extinguished the fire, which involved the first floor and roof space.”
One fire engine remains on site to assist with the clear-up operation.
