"No confirmed timeline" for remaining A29 works, council says
It's despite a court hearing dismissing a landowner appeal which was blocking initial works
There's no timeline of when the A29 might be able to reopen fully - despite progress being made towards repairing it this week.
The road through Pulborough's been partially closed since a landslip on Church Hill in December 2023.
50 metres of concrete blocks have remained alongside it since to allow a single lane to be opened with a traffic light system in place.
This week, a court hearing dismissed a landowner appeal which was stopping unstable trees - feared to be at risk of falling on drivers and pedestrians" from being chopped down.
However, West Sussex County Council said although it would "complete relevant tree works in a timely manner", more works need to be done before the road can be fully operational:
A spokesperson said: "Additional work is also required before the road can return to normal operations, and while we are exploring options to progress matters, there is currently no confirmed timeline for the remaining works.’
