We are being warned of snow and ice in parts of West Sussex, as the Met Office issues a fresh warning.

The yellow alert came into effect at midnight and and lasts until 11am on Thursday (February 11th).

It covers eastern parts of the county, including Billingshurst, Horsham, Crawley and much of Mid Sussex.

Forecasters say icy patches and wintry showers may cause some travel disruption.

Drivers making essential journeys are being urged to take care on the roads.

Much of the county has been under various alerts for snow and ice since Saturday.

What to expect

Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services

Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces

Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths

Here's what the Met Office is saying:

"Wednesday's snow showers will continue for a time but will gradually ease and fade away from most areas during the course of the night.

"Showers will be slowest to ease over parts of Essex and Kent where a further few centimetres of snow may build up in a few places."
