Sussex Police have confirmed a motorcyclist is in hospital with serious injuries following a collision on the M23 in West Sussex.

Emergency services attended reports of a crash involving two motorbikes on the northbound carriageway between junctions 111 and 10, near Crawley.

In a statement, Sussex Police said:

"Emergency services were called to Junction 10 of the M23 at around 6.45pm on Wednesday (20 March) to reports of a collision involving two motorcycles.

"The northbound carriageway was closed while one of the motorcycle riders was taken to hospital with serious injuries, not considered to be life-threatening or life-changing at this time."

National Highways have confirmed all lanes have since reopened after the collision.

The incident comes only weeks after six people were taken to hospital following a pile-up involving multiple vehicles along the same stretch of motorway.

34 people were also treated at the scene.
