A motorcyclist from Brighton has died following a collision with a car in east Dorset.
Police were called to Horton Road at Ashley Heath at 5.38pm on Friday (February 23rd) following reports of a crash involving a black Kawasaki motorcycle and a black Vauxhall Grandland.
It happened near to the junction with Woolsbridge Road.
The rider, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Dorset Police said his family has been informed.
The driver of the Vauxhall, a man aged in his 70s from Weston-super-Mare in Somerset, did not sustain any serious injuries.
Sergeant Richard Stroud, of the Dorset Roads Policing Team, said:
"Our thoughts are very much with the family and the loved ones of the man who sadly died as a result of this collision and officers are doing all they can to support them.
"We are carrying out a full investigation to establish the circumstances of this collision and I would urge any witnesses to please contact us.
"I would also urge any motorists with dashcam fitted who were driving in the vicinity around the time of the incident to please review their footage to check if they have captured anything of relevance.
"Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during the road closures. These are absolutely necessary to allow the emergency services to respond and for a detailed examination of the collision scene to be conducted."
