March to take place through Worthing as union representatives call for a general election

An organisation of trade unions in Worthing is holding a march through the town today as organisers call for a general election.
The Worthing Solidarity Network claims the Conservatives are no longer able to govern during a cost-of-living crisis.
The rally, backed by national campaign Enough is Enough, will start in Chapel Road from 1 o’clock and finish at Montague Place around 3pm.
Clive Bryant, representative of the public and Commercial Services Union, said ‘too many industries are being balloted for strike action’.
He added: “I think that demonstrates the depths of despair that people have reached.
“They feel there is no other option than to strike and to try and get the government and the various employers in the public sector to understand that things have to change.”
A number of industries, including the health service, have been balloting for industrial action in recent months.
The organisation told us of the struggles their members are facing as bills escalate and food prices rise ahead of winter.
Earlier this week the Prime Minister said his government will deliver for the British people – stating he wants 'a stronger NHS, better schools, safer streets, control of our borders and levelling up'.
