Man seriously injured after fall from Brighton Palace Pier

Two men have been arrested following an altercation on Thursday (August 11th)

A man has suffered serious injuries after falling from Palace Pier in Brighton onto the promenade below.

Police were called to the east of the pier at around 9.25pm on Thursday (August 11th) by ambulance crews after the man suffered a cardiac arrest.

They heard that the man had fallen from railings down to the promenade below.

He was stabilised by paramedics and taken to hospital, were he remains in a serious condition. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Witness accounts state that the man had been in involved in an altercation prior to falling.

Two other men were identified at the scene and arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. They have since been released under investigation.
