A 28-year-old has been arrested and bailed
A man has suffered a bleed on his brain after being assaulted in Hove.
The attack occurred on Church Road, near the junction with Second Avenue, at around 11:05pm on Saturday.
The man, who is in his 50s remains in hospital, where he is also being treated for serious facial injuries.
A 28-year-old man from Hove has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Sussex Police believe there are "many witnesses" to the incident, and are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
