A man has been pronounced dead after falling from a road bridge on the A27 in Shoreham.

Police closed a stretch of the road between the Lancing Manor roundabout and Hangleton after being called to Mill Hill Road in the early hours of this morning (Monday 7th).

Officers said the 28-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and the man's next of kin have been told.

A file is being prepared for the coroner.

The stretch was shut in both directions during the morning rush hour, with bus services being diverted and drivers told to seek alternative routes.

Sussex Police confirmed the closures had been lifted as of 11am on Monday.
