A man who committed seven burglaries in the space of a week has been jailed.

36-year-old Peter Harlow, of Kilnmead, Northgate, Crawley stole from a number of addresses in Hastings from the 20-25 April.

Harlow stole items including bicycles, jewellery and cameras.

He also stole bank cards that he attempted to use in local shops.

Harlow was later arrested by Sussex Police on 29 April, and was charged with seven counts of burglary and three counts of fraud by false representation.

He pleaded guilty to all charges, and was sentenced in Lewes Crown Court to 54 months in prison on 8 August.

Detective Sergeant Jason Tuck, from Hastings' Investigations team, said "Harlow's blatant offending caused a great deal of stress and upset for the victims."

"Burglary is something we take incredibly seriously," DS Tuck stated, adding "it has both a financial and emotional impact on its victims, as it is an invasion of their homes and the place they should feel most safe."

"We are committed to attending all reports, providing support to victims and identifying those responsible for criminality," DS Tuck also said.
