Police have named a man killed in a suspected hit and run incident in West Sussex, as they launch a fresh appeal for information.

64-year-old Tony Barrow from Hassocks was found dead at the side of Clayton Hill, just outside the village, at just after midnight last Thursday (May 18th).

Officers have now said that Mr Barrow was involved in a collision with a vehicle which did not stop at the scene.

A 59-year-old man from Hove who was arrested in connection with the incident has been bailed, pending further enquiries.

Sussex Police are appealing for any motorists driving in the area who may have witnessed other vehicles or have dashcam footage of other vehicles to come forward, particularly those who were on the roads between 00.15am and 00.40am.

Anyone with information is asked to email: collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk or call 101 quoting Operation Bicester.
