Man charged with sexual offences against woman in Littlehampton
The woman was walking along Harsfold Road at around 12.30am on Sunday when she says she was approached by an unknown man.
Sussex Police have charged a man with a number of sexual offences after a woman was attacked in Littlehampton on Sunday (1 October).
The woman, who is in her 20s, was walking along Harsfold Road at around 12.30am on Sunday when she says she was approached by an unknown man.
He reportedly sexually and physically assaulted her, before attempting to flee the scene.
Officers nearby were able to arrest him in nearby Sea Road and take him into custody.
The 44-year-old, from Littlehampton, has now been charged with sexual assault, an offence with intent to commit a sexual offence and assault occasioning actual bodily harm and remanded in custody.
He will appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court today (3 October).
Detective Inspector Amanda Zinyama said: “Women should be free to walk alone without fear of being attacked by predatory men.
“I would like to commend all of the officers involved in this incident for their swift work in bringing a suspect into custody, who has now been charged and remanded.
