Man charged with GBH after cyclist hurt in Turners Hill

The 28-year-old is due in court on Thursday (April 15th)

A man has been charged with grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving after a cyclist was injured in West Sussex.

Police were called to Paddockhurst Road in Turners Hill at 4.50pm on Tuesday (April 13th) following an alleged assault involving a car driver and a cyclist.

The cyclist, a man in his 40s, suffered significant head injuries and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.

He remains in hospital in a stable condition.

28-year-old mechanic David Francis, of West Hoathly Road in East Grinstead, was arrested and later charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and driving a motor vehicle dangerously.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (April 15th).

Officers investigating the matter continue to appeal for any witnesses to come forward.
