Man charged with carrying knives in Worthing

He was arrested after reports of a woman being threatened

Police in Worthing have charged a man with multiple violent and weapons offences against a local woman.

On Friday the 8th December police were called to Ashacre Lane in Worthing after a woman in her 30s reported being threatened by a man.

35-year-old, Lee Dyton, of no fixed address, was arrested nearby and found to be in possession of a knuckle duster and two knives.

He was charged with two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm, intentional strangulation, engaging in controlling/coercive behaviour, making threats to kill, two counts of possession of a knife in a public place, possession of an offensive weapon in public and possession of a Class B drug (cannabis).

He's been remanded in custody, until the 8th of January, 2024.
