A man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in Crawley.

Police found the 19-year-old victim with potentially life-threatening injuries in Lansbury Road shortly after 9pm on Friday, November 11th.

He was airlifted to hospital in Brighton and remains in a serious but stable condition.

Investigators are treating the assault as an isolated incident and believe the men were known to each other.

Cedric Perrine, of Petworth Court in the town, is accused of attempted murder, assault by beating and a racially aggravated public order offence.

The 19-year-old appeared in court this morning and has now been remanded in custody ahead of a Crown Court appearance next month on Monday, December 12th.

Any witnesses to the attack, or anyone with video footage, is being asked to report to police online or call 101 quoting Operation Amberley.
