Emergency services were called to Diplocks Walk on Saturday night, where a pedestrian was hit by a car.

24-year-old local man, Jack Field, was confirmed dead at the scene.

His family have described him as a loving son, brother and friend.

Following a number of enquiries, Kyle Dumble is due before Brighton Magistrates court later.

The 26 year old, of no fixed address, is accused of murder, attempted Grievous Bodily Harm with intent and various driving offences.

The driving offenses consist of disqualified driving and driving without insurance.

A second suspect has been released on bail.

Detective Chief Inspector from Sussex police, Alex Campbell said: “The investigation continues and our thoughts remain with the victim's family at this tragic time."

"I understand this has been a distressing incident for the whole community, and I would like to thank the public for their patience and support throughout the investigation."

Sussex police say there will be an increased police presence in the area in the next few days.
