Man charged after stabbing on Brighton's Trafalgar Street

A man's been charged following a stabbing on Trafalgar Street in Brighton.

It's after a 22-year-old suffered multiple stab wounds in an attack at around 3:30am on 9 October.

33-year-old Joel Elliott of Springfield Road, Brighton, has been charged with grievous bodily harm, robbery and possession of a bladed article.

He appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court on Tuesday and was remanded in custody.

He's next scheduled to appear in court on November 21.

Detective Inspector Donna Ward said:

"After a thorough investigation by a team of officers and staff, we have managed to charge and remand a suspect.

“Members of the public should be able to walk the streets at night without the fear of violence, and we are dedicated to ensuring that those who try to infringe upon this right face consequences.

“We thank the members of the public who have assisted with our enquiries, as well as those who helped the victim in his most vulnerable moments."
