Man charged after climbing up scaffolding at Brighton hospital
Police say a man was seen throwing items onto the street below
A man has been charged after climbing onto scaffolding outside the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
Police had to cordon off a section of Eastern Road on Monday (October 8th) following reports of a person scaling the building and then throwing items from the scaffolding onto the street below.
57-year-old Peter Budd, of no fixed address, was arrested that afternoon.
He has been charged with intentionally or recklessly causing a public nuisance, three counts of assaulting an emergency worker and using threatening, abusive or insulting language to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
Budd appeared before Brighton Magistrates' Court on Tuesday and has since been remanded into custody pending his next hearing on November 5th.
