Man charged after attempted ATM burglary

A man has been charged after Sussex police stopped a burglary in progress in Barnham.
The incident happened on Tuesday at 2am where a man was attempting to steal an ATM using a crane.
Alfie Smith, 43, of Staines Road West, Ashford, Middlesex, has been remanded in custody to next appear before the court on August 2.
A 37-year-old man who was arrested has been released on conditional bail.
